Picture Africa

In alignment with 100% Design South Africa’s objectives of educating and inspiring South Africans about design on the continent, Platform Creative Director Cathy O'Clery curated Picture Africa as a colourful exploration of contemporary African textiles through the visual storytelling and lens of artists, stylists and photographers. The impactful and attractive exhibition included images and fabrics from across the continent, giving visitors an insight into different cultures of expression, while broadening their perceptions of the wider continent, beyond South Africa’s borders. Picture Africa was one of the most talked about exhibitions at 100% Design South Africa 2016.
